Makeup has always been sort of a mystery to me. I grew up watching my mother put on makeup and that alone kept me away from makeup for a long time. I love my mother dearly, but she did not know how to use makeup. Her mascara was clumped so much that it often looked like hairy spider legs sticking out over her eyes. She used lipstick for blush and would rub it around on her cheeks until it was sufficiently dark. Her eye shadow was usually a bright shade of blue that stuck out like a sore thumb. Her lipstick seemed to spend more time on her teeth than it did on her lips. All in all, she was not someone that I aspired to look like as a teenager. Now, in my adult life, I realize how beautiful my mom was, she just didn’t know how to utilize her natural beauty. I have resorted to using very little makeup in hopes that I won’t over do it like she did. Because of this, I need help learning how to use makeup properly to enhance my own natural beauty.
We live in a crazy, busy world. Cities are getting bigger and more crowded, people spend more and more time working, and less and less time at home, and it seems like we never have enough time to do what we need to do. All the advances in modern technology that are supposed to make our lives more simple have in fact made them more complicated. We can now do things faster than ever before, so we fill our extra time with even more stuff to do. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Fitness Time
For many their New Year’s resolutions are thought into and serious items. If it is to stop an addiction, or reach out to your family more, the list is endless. I believe for many, at the top of the list would be to get back in shape after the holidays. We all know during the holidays instead of going for a morning jog in the snow it is easier to make cinnamon rolls and get snug on the couch. Well the New Year is quickly approaching and soon enough we will need to get back on track with our health. There are so many great deals available now online and at gyms such as 24 Hour Fitness that I didn’t know existed.
I love make up and anything cosmetic like. I love trying out new things, colors, and products. And, being a mom, unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning and play around with stuff. I’m always in a time crunch or have a small boy pulling on my leg or getting into things in the bathroom. So, time is of the essence. But, I do like to at least “put my face on” most days to avoid the stay at home mom syndrome of frumpiness.
I recently discovered the ease of buying perfume on line this past March on my mother’s birthday. She has long worn a perfume called Gem but she couldn’t find it anywhere. She asked me on a recent trip to Paris to check the duty free shops for it. After looking in several, one of the sales clerks informed me that it had in fact been discontinued. So, I decided to look on line to see if I could still find some unopened bottles out there. And, there were! One of the places that sells it is Fragrance X. I found others on Ebay, but the prices at Fragrance X were better and I knew it was a legitimate company so it would be safe and trustworthy. I was afraid I’d get some skunky old bottle from someone on Ebay. Anyway, the shipment of the perfume safely arrived at my mom’s house just in time for her birthday and it was perfect! So, if you have a fragrance that your mom used to wear, or even one you loved but can’t find anymore, try looking online and check out Fragrance X on couponbuzz.com as well.
Have you seen all the hype about the weight loss that was mentioned on Oprah? She and Dr. Oz spoke about the greatest super foods and some of their health effects. From this main episode, hundreds of marketers have starting to sell Acai Berry pills, drinks, and supplements, as well as the Colon Cleanse. Well, I have just finished my first week of a two week cleanse. Wish me luck!
I purchased a product that takes 2 weeks and is pretty gentle. I am not sure all of the effects this will have on my body, but getting my colon clean sounds like a good idea. Colon cancer runs in my family so I guess that I can’t be too careful.
Being a mother, I am aware of the approaching Mother’s Day holiday not to far away. I try not to get my hopes up about what my husband and daughter will do because I know they love me and appreciate what I do. However, I won’t complain if they do something really special or thoughtful for me. With this in mind, I find myself seeing possible Mother’s Day gifts from several of the merchants that I am the guide for. One place that has a lot of great gift options is Cooking.com. I know, some moms hate the idea of getting household items for gifts but I am not one of those people. Anything that can help me with my day to day chores is a welcomed friend.
Isn’t flu season over yet? I thought we were going to make it through without any flu casualties, but my son Tyler finally caught it last Friday. Ugh is all I can say. It took 5 days for the fever to go away but the cold like symptoms still remain. My husband even caught a mild form of it! I have had my fingers crossed all week that my youngest son and I would not catch it and so far, we’ve been lucky. But, it really got me thinking about stocking up on supplies like fever reducers, filters for the humidifier, cold medicines, etc. It’s such a pain when the kids are already sick to try to take them to the store to pick up the medicines you need. So, did some poking around and couponbuzz definitely has a section full of links to wellness, vitamin, and nutrition stores online so you can just shop at home and have it delivered! Time to stock up for sure. That humidifier sure was a lifesaver for Tyler to breathe and finding the filters for it can sometimes be a pain. So, online, you can find anything you need. I”ll be stocking up on the filters and the fever reducers today…just in case we happen to get hit with another lovely virus.
Have you ever heard the story of Job? Well let me tell you that it was remade just over a year ago by my husband and I. We had this time in our life when everything that could possibly go wrong… DID! When we thought nothing else could challenge us, my husband got an eye disease that was going to make him go blind if he didn’t get treated ASAP! Totally Job!
