Halfway through Christmas

sheena Friday, August 21st, 2015

Female shopping at festive fairHi guys! I’ts August and just a few months from here, it will be Christmas again. How do you feel? We are all excited in our home. In fact, as of now, I’m beginning to think of gifts I will be giving away to some special people in my life. It’s too early but hey it’s not so bad to start out early.

I wanna make sure I make an early start because I have a long list of people I need to give gifts. Another reason is that I don’t want to be in a rush during the Christmas season. I want to enjoy the season completely and feel completely at peace and prepared.

Mother’s day shouldn’t be just like any other day. It should be made extra special for that one special woman in your life.
We all know how hard the job of a mother is. She has this magic that puts everything running smoothly in the house. And she works 24/7 for the family. She takes care of everyone but her needs are usually taken for granted.
There are many ways you can make a mother happy. You can give her a bouquet of red roses, a special gift such as perfume, chocolates, or jewelry or perhaps some grocery gift certificates. There are just so many things you can do to surprise her.
But do you know what exactly they’re wanting to have? They simply want a break. Every mom would be happy to get a much needed break. You can call it a “me” time.
Some time off from their endless chores…..
So go ahead and plan how you can make this possible…..cook breakfast so she wont have too. Give her spa certificates so she can indulge and relax as much as she wants. If she doesn’t work her clothes are most probably outdated so allow her to go on a shopping spree. She would also appreciate going to the salon to get a makeover.
Whether you are a husband who has that special woman in your life or a child who has been nurtured by a mother, this coming Mother’s day is surely an opportunity for you to show her that she’s important. Go ahead and plan.

Homemade Gifts You’ll be Proud to Give This Christmas
Christmas may mean splurging on expensive treat and gifts for our families and loved ones, but you do not need to feel down in case you are hard up on cash for the upcoming holiday season as there are many things you can give your family and friends and you do not even have to break the bank. A dash of creativity and a sprinkle of resourcefulness ought to do the trick!
Buying off the shelves for fancy and colorful gifts can be a little tempting but if you cannot afford to shop till you drop for lovely presents for the important people in your life this Christmas, there is no reason to despair at all. Here are a number of homemade gifts you will be proud to give away this merriest season of all and I am betting this will all make the recipient feel a little more loved and a whole lot special!
Homemade Christmas Cards. Especially if you are thinking of your relatives and folks across the miles, a homemade Christmas card complete with a little message from every member of the family will be sure to warm their hearts this holiday season. I am sure the grandparents will be very touched to receive a hand written Christmas card from their grandchildren, who knows, it might even pave the way for them to spend the next holiday with you!
Home baked Goodies. If you have a knack at preparing oh so yummy baked goodies, they will be perfect Christmas present to giveaway to just about anyone: the little pre schooler’s teachings in school, the nice old lady neighbor, or the friendly street sweeper who makes it a point to greet you a “Good day!” every time he chanced upon you on the road. Baked goodies are essentially special as you have prepared them with utmost care and love, which I am sure the recipient wil absolutely feel!
Homemade Spa Items. You can find loads of recipes and procedures online on how to make your own spa materials at home. Why not make a big batch this time around so you can give the rest to your mom friends, colleagues at work, or relatives, too. Those who are always busy at work and do not have the time to take a break from the grind for a short visit to the spa for a much needed rest and relaxation will highly appreciate the gesture, plus your pocket will even thank you for it as you never have to go over your limited Christmas gift budget for this year.
Knitted Delights. If you love knitting and crocheting, it is also a clever and creative idea to give away your finish products as Christmas gifts to your family or your friends. I am sure your sister will love that pink crocheted pouch, and I am betting grandma will really appreciate the knitted scarf which is in her favorite pastel shade!
Hand drawn Coupons. These simple yet delightful present will be much appreciated by everyone. Let the children draw on their very own coupons and let them give these away to the members of the family, including their aunts, uncles, moms, dads, or the very reliable house help. The kids can draw their favorite characters or whatever pictures they fancy, then let them scribble what these coupons are for. They can probably write “no laundry day,” or “get a relaxing massage” for mom or “get a free carwash,” or “this coupon entitles you to one night of uninterrupted basketball TV viewing” for dad. Let the little ones’ imagination work and let them think of the most appropriate coupons to give to each member of the family. This will be a very wonderful activity for the kids and you only need to spend on crayons, craft papers and colored pens, which are probably readily available at home, anyway.

Why I Prepare for Christmas Way Too Early than Most People
For children, Christmas is a time of joy, a time of celebration and a time for receiving gifts. But for most of us adults, it can be a season full of madness, stress, anxiety and lots of things to do. This is the reason why I prepare for this season months before it happens. Yes, I make preparations for Chrismas, way too early. As early as the month of August kicks in, my Christmas preparations begin.
Why I do It and Why You Should Too?
I want to enjoy Christmas more. I find in the past, before I did this, that Christmas becomes less enjoyable as it becomes highly stressful and puts me in a frantic pace. Instead of enjoying the moment with family and friends, I become absorb in all the gift preparations, the planning, the buying of presents, decorating and all other errands just to make myself and my family feel the real essence of Christmas. It became really difficult for me to a point that I never wanted to celebrate Christmas anymore.
But as a mom, this is just not an option. I want my kids to experience Christmas and feel the sense of peace and joy and love that comes with it. But at the same time, I wanted to be a role model for them. I wanted them to focus on what truly matters – love and remembering the birth of Christ who died for our sins.
My brilliant husband gave me an idea into this and suggested I make preparations before December. That was when the idea hit me. I don’t need to make all the preparations by December, I can actually do it way advanced before this month.
What was the result and how do I do it?
The result astonished and amazed me up until this day. I start preparing by August by listing all the names of people that I want to give gifts to. I then list things I want to give them. If I can’t come up with anything, i have all the time in the world to find out what the person wants. I have a huge network of friends, families and acquaintance that my list reaches around 100 people, more or less. I even give to coworkers, and that of my husband’s too. That’s the reason why my list is quite long. That is also a huge reason why I needed to prepare for this event, really early!
I buy the gifts and wrappers or make them if I wanted the gift to be a personalized one, I buy christmas cards in advance and write in them in advance, I collect and buy things I would need for the season such as decors, gift wrappers and the like. I use coupons to save on items and rush in to the mall whenever they are on sale. I then put the items in stock in our house and wrap them one by one whenever I have the extra time to do so. I keep all the gifts in a cabinet which is clean and safe so that they are not damaged when December comes and they look like they were just wrapped at that time. I do not put names on the gifts yet before December. Instead, I place a reminder of what’s inside it. This way, I am able to make a switch as to whom I would give them if I feel the need to do so.
I also plan the christmas meals in advance. I read articles online, watch cooking shows and write meal plans so I do not have to worry what to prepare anymore.
As for the decorations, we set them up as early as October. We don’t do them all at once so that we don’t need to put in a huge portion of time into it. We set them every weekend and add something to what’s already set during that time. This becomes a great bonding activity for my family and the good thing is that we get to do it not only once. We get to do it until the end of December and by December, we are all amazed at what we have come up with.
We hold a party at our home every Christmas, and this used to be a huge source of stress for me. But today, not anymore! I prepare all the details of the programs, the foods and the parts of the event as well as all the things needed, way before December. Planning begins in September.
I can say that this strategy really helped me. Planning for Christmas in advance can really help a person. If it helped me a lot, I am pretty sure, it could help you too. The result is amazing! I no longer had that feeling of being overwhelmed. I can feel relaxed and at peace knowing that everything is already prepared. I have more joy and contentment and I can enjoy the season more and become more loving and giving to my loved ones. More importantly, I can be a great role model for my kids so they will be able to see what truly matters in celebrating this season. In addition, I get to save tons of cash because I have plenty of time to plan, buy with discounts, and decide.

Christmas Shopping Reminder on a Wall CalendarFor children, Christmas is a time of joy, a time of celebration and a time for receiving gifts. But for most of us adults, it can be a season full of madness, stress, anxiety and lots of things to do. This is the reason why I prepare for this season months before it happens. Christmas is over….now what?

accessory v1 m56577569838682312 300x157 Christmas is over....now what? The gifts have all been opened, all the eggnog is gone, the bottom of the tree looks bare, and Santa is snug in his bed taking a well deserved nap. At this point, many people ask, now what? The days between Christmas and New Years Eve, many people wonder what to do to fill the time. Some people lounge around the house eating all the leftovers and watching the various holiday bowl games. Other people go to the movies, or visit loved ones. However, the really smart ones take advantage of this small window to get great deals on things they really want.
