‘household items’ Posts
Most people like to surf the web to find out what’s going on in the world, take advantage of cool online deals or to kill time. There are a bazillion sites out there to choose from, and undoubtedly, you will find what you’re looking for. Some sites are very predictable and practical for what I need, but every once in a while I find a site that has something that pleasantly surprises me. In the past few days I’ve stumbled upon some of these and I just have to share them.
Most of us want our homes to reflect our personality. We pick things that we like and that say something about us. My husband and I tried to do this with our first home. We painted all the rooms different colors to give them personality. We also decorated with items that you couldn’t find at IKEA or Walmart. We found some stuff at garage sales, designed our own decorations or found great items online. We have the same method of thinking when it comes to giving things to other people. We want to give things that are original and have some personality or flare. When it comes to birthday parties for my five year old daughter, we make something to give as the present. Kids especially like things that are made just for them. It gives them a well needed sense of ownership they crave so much. Some people struggle to come up with ideas of what to make. If you are one of these people, I have a few websites that can help you out.
Life is very busy these days. Between jobs, kids, carpools, cell phones, bills, vacations and everything else in between, it’s easy to let our lives get cluttered and out of control. My house growing up was very busy and chaotic, being the third of seven kids. To this day I don’t know how my mom managed to keep us all fed, clothed, taken to school, sports practice and games, music lessons, church activities and everything else we did each day. As I look back I realize how truly organized she was. I am now a full time mom that works from home and I can’t stand having clutter or chaos in my home. Things like coats and shoes left on the floor, random papers on the table, opening up my fridge to find out I’m out of milk, or missing a sibling’s birthday drive me nuts. I’ve tried different methods throughout the years and have come up with a few simple things that really help me.
At the beginning of the year, you made a resolution to work out regularly and shed the pounds. You have done so well until recently. The New Year’s Resolution to get in shape is starting to wear off. It’s been a whole month and a half and your drive is weakening. You need a little boost of resolve to get you through your current slump. What can you do?
One of my biggest laundry pet-peeves is pulling clothes out of your washer that are covered in lint from towels or rugs or anything else ill-advisedly tossed in the batch with them! The most irritating aspect of it is that it is nearly impossible to remove, without lint-brushing ALL of the items ran in the same washer or dryer batch. But who has the time to do 2-3 extra batches of laundry each week just to wash all your ‘might-shed-lint’ items separately?! I had resigned myself to the frustrating inevitability of this housewives dilemma (and invested in a stock of lint brushes), when I stumbled across these darling little fixits at WhateverWorks.com. Of course, I added them as a promotion on my Coupon Buzz Page: Lint Remover Balls
