Custom Marble Magnets

You love your mom, but you’re kind of busy and now whatever gift you decide on for Mother’s Day will probably be late (kind of like this post). Jumping on the internet to find a great deal will take less time than getting into your car, driving through traffic to get to the mall, and spending hours searching through the stores. Couponbuzz offers a one-stop place to shop without the foot pain. Take advantage of the free shipping offered by most stores and your pocketbook will thank you. Couponbuzz helps you save money which will make mom even more proud!

Here’s what I’ll be giving my moms (mom, step-mom, mother-in-law, co-worker who acts like my mom) for Mother’s Day—marble magnets made with neodymium magnets from K&J Magnetics. These are the really small magnets that have a super strong hold. These magnets are so strong, that when used to hold up a piece of paper on the fridge, it stays. You can’t move the paper without moving the magnet otherwise you’ll end up ripping the paper. Why spend an arm and a leg on cute ceramic magnets that barely hold up themselves when you can make a bunch of cute ones of high quality that show off your own personal style. The end product qualifies as homemade, so you’ll get the heartfelt thanks from mom and the added pleasure of knowing that your gift is long-lasting and practical.

Here’s how I saved money making marble magnets. I printed different patterns from my computer, punched the paper with a ¾” circle punch, and glued them to marbles (these are flat on one side and you get these from your favorite craft store). After the marbles dried, I cut off the excess paper around the edge using a small sharp scissors. I separated the neodymium magnets on a magnetic surface giving ample space between them because when too close, they snap back together. Then I glued the marbles on to the magnets.

You’ll save money when you buy more magnets at once. You’ll save time when you make all the magnets in one session and you’ll have plenty to give to however many moms are on your list.
