Although I love summer with all the traveling, swimming, camping and relaxing, I think I love fall just as much. The days start to get a little cooler, the leaves start to change, and there is a crispness in the air preparing us for the winter which will be here before we know it. Millions of kids, teenagers and college students return to school with high hopes of a great year. All of these events are fun and exciting, but it’s not what I love most about the fall. I absolutely love watching college football with friends, eating good food, and sharing in the excitement that inevitably follows.

Did you know that September is National Sewing Month? If you’re like me, you had no idea until you read this blog. I personally was unaware of this monthly celebration until today when I checked out Joann.com to get ideas for possible Halloween costumes. I soon found out that throughout the month of September, Joann.com offers 50% off their Home Decor Fabrics until supplies run out. What a great reason to get fabric now for those fun fall projects you have in mind.

As a mother, my cell phone is part of my entourage, it goes with me wherever I go. I use it to keep in touch with my sister, my best friend, and my husband. The obvious reason for me to carry a phone is in case of an emergency. I can call for help. There are so many reasons to carry a phone.

Just when you’re getting used to hot weather, playing at the pool and sleeping in, it’s time to think about going back to school. It seems unfair that summer goes by so quickly, so make the most of it while you can. Don’t waste your time driving from store to store, trying to get everything you need on your school supply list. You can easily get everything you need in less than an hour, while staying at home in your pajamas.

Although it’s hard to believe, summer is drawing to a close and millions of people are making preparations for going back to school. Some are teachers preparing their classrooms, others are students getting the necessary supplies, and some are businesses looking for ways to capitalize on the changing of the seasons. It’s no secret that the education and business sectors are struggling economically right now, so anything they can do to save money is very beneficial.

I love to travel. The only thing I love more than travelling is saving money when I travel! I swear that I account for half of the traffic on sites like travelocity.com, priceline.com, and orbitz.com! When I began travelling these tools were not around. There were travel agencies or you could be brave and make your own accommodations. The problem with doing it yourself was that you had never been to these places. You didn’t know how the hotel was, what part of town was the best to visit, or what restaurants were a must-visit. These days all you have to do is visit one of these web sites and type in your desired destination. It’s like having access to a travel agency owned by millions of friends who have visited the location you want to visit and can recommend the best hotels, car rental companies, and beaches to visit.

This time of year the weather is warm and the sun is out. Each year, my husband and I look forward to this time of year to get outside and exercise. We have always loved to hike, bike, and play at the beach. So far we have more than a decade of summers doing these things. I love having a partner for my active lifestyle. It makes the activities so much more enjoyable.

When shopping for a new personal computer certain names keep popping up, names like Apple, HP, Toshiba, etc. That’s for a reason. They have proven themselves over decades with technological advances. Every time a new technology has come along, these computer manufacturers have either been behind the new technology or at least adopted it very quickly. These “bells & whistles” only get a reputation so far. They have cemented their fan bases through reliability.

Once a year we get to think about the men in our life that have loved us, taught us, and protected us. If you’re lucky, you were raised by a father that emulated the kind of man you wanted to be, or wanted to marry some day. A good father can help create a family environment that promotes unity, love and trust. If you get married and have children, you get to experience another important father in your life. With all they do for us, it’s great to have one day to focus on them and show them our love and appreciation.

When I think of music, it’s hard to know where to begin. For some people, music is not a big deal, but I wager to say that it’s very important to most people around the world, even if they don’t realize it. Some of my earliest memories involve listening to, dancing to, singing to, or playing music. My mother was very musically talented and taught all my siblings and I how to sing from a very young age. She also taught us all the play the piano, and strongly encouraged (forced) us to each play one other instrument. I chose the very unusual oboe, thanks to a recommendation from my older sister, but that is beside the point. My mom instilled in me a love of music from an very early age that remains with me still.
