ice cream 1 Action Shots With Kids Impossible?ice cream 21 Action Shots With Kids Impossible?ice cream 3 Action Shots With Kids Impossible?Ok, so tell me if any of you have the same problem as me.  You’re at the park, swimming pool, lake or somewhere else fun with your kid and they start doing something that you really want to take a picture of, but you have to snap the shot at just the precise second or you won’t capture the moment.  You take the shot, but miss it by just a second or two.  How one earth can you figure out exactly when you push the button on your camera so that you get the shot you want?  When my husband and I bought our last camera I was sold by one particular feature that makes this problem just about disappear.

My boys love the Disney and Pixar movies!  And, now, after seeing how much they enjoy them, I am a fan as well.  Most of these movies have so much in them that only the adults actually get so they are equally as entertaining!  My favorite is Madagascar, and we took the boys to see Madagascar 2 at the movies.  Now, I see it is out for sale this month.  Gonna have to buy that one for sure.

tasi faith paint 150x150 Encouraging Creativity in ChildrenMy daughter was about to turn 3 years old when her Grandfather asked what she might like for a birthday present. It was suggested that she could use an art easel for our home. The search began, and just in time for her birthday we had the perfect easel set up in our kitchen.

It may seem too much trouble to set up creative art situations in your home for young children. Perhaps they will only paint, draw or create for a few minutes after all the time spent preparing. But that is where true artistic expression begins. I don’t think that the great artistic minds of the world painted a masterpiece when they were 3 years old, or that they were born with the attention span to finish a project. With each little art session,  we help children learn some wonderful skills.

I sometimes just get in the mood to shop around online to see what I can find.  I decided to start at CouponBuzz.com and saw that The Gap was having a 50% off sale, so I followed the link.  I ended up buying a bunch of clothes for my kids and was excited about how little it cost me.  If I find something I like I’ll often get bigger sizes for the next year, since the clothes on sale are usually those from the season that’s ending.  That’s also a good idea if you find something you want and they don’t have the right size, but do have the next size up.  When I’ve found a basic, like a turtleneck or onesie I like, I’ll buy a couple…the correct size and a bigger size.

tasi mom Hiking Is Fun With KidsI didn’t do very much hiking growing up.  I loved playing sports and participated in several competitive organized sports in my life, but I find the older I get the harder is is to stay active.  When you’re young it’s easy to find ways to play basketball, football or tennis on a regular basis.  Once you’re married with kids your days are much busier and you can’t just leave and play sports every day.  You can get a gym membership and drop your kids off at the child care there while you work out, but why not involve them in the exercise.

Wooden Toys Really Last

Do you remember when you were young and you used to get one, maybe two toys for your birthday and Christmas?  You played with that one toy day in and day out until it finally had to be thrown away.  In those days toys were made of wood, cloth or metal, and were built to last for years.  Most toys I find these days are cheaply made from plastic or paper and barely last more than a week.  We’ve slowly turned into a community that accepts disposable toys without thinking of the consequences it may cause to the earth.

crafts1 300x300 Cold Weather BoredumIt’s the middle of January, the holiday season is over and it’s months before spring time will start to appear.  You can’t go to the park, the zoo, the swimming pool and you’re getting tired of visiting the library and local fast food play area every day.  Your little kids are stir crazy and you need something to stimulate their brain and take up some time.  What do you do?
