Send Mom On A Trip!

We all know we’re supposed to get out mothers or wives something really nice for Mother’s Day, like flowers, a nice necklace or fun new kitchen gadget.  But what about something they really want?  Think about what an average day looks like for many mothers around the world.  They wake up, fix breakfast for everyone, make sure everyone gets off to school and work ok and then get to work themselves.  Whether it’s at home or in the corporate world, the job is still long and tiring.  At night they fix dinner for the family, help kids with homework, do the dishes, laundry and try to clean up the house.  After that’s done they figure out what other things they have to do in preparation for the next day, try to spend a few minutes of quality time with the spouse and go to bed exhausted from a long hard day.  So, what do you think would be a mom’s greatest wish for Mother’s Day?

Mom's Yoga Kit

Being a mother, I am aware of the approaching Mother’s Day holiday not to far away.  I try not to get my hopes up about what my husband and daughter will do because I know they love me and appreciate what I do.  However, I won’t complain if they do something really special or thoughtful for me.  With this in mind, I find myself seeing possible Mother’s Day gifts from several of the merchants that I am the guide for.  One place that has a lot of great gift options is Cooking.com.  I know, some moms hate the idea of getting household items for gifts but I am not one of those people.  Anything that can help me with my day to day chores is a welcomed friend.

girls weekend 300x224 Planning a Moms Weekend AwayThere you are sitting at home with dishes to do, floors to be swept and vacuumed, laundry to do, dinner to fix, children to bathe and bills to be paid.  You spend your days completing all the necessary tasks without complaint and try to make sure all your kids and husband are happy and healthy.  You don’t have time to exercise as much as you would like, you don’t ever go shopping by yourself and rarely have quiet time to read a good book.  Does any of this sound familiar?  I think most moms love what they do, but often feel like by the time they give everything to their husband, children, other family members and neighbors, they have nothing left for themselves.  I am lucky enough to have a group of friends who understand the need to get away from their normal responsibilities once in a while to relax and refuel the tank that is nearly empty.  Now, onto the incriminating pictures I have displayed for the world to see….
