So I have been looking for a sunhat in preparation for this summer. I am almost 30 years old with many days of my life spent in the great outdoors. In a recent mirror examination I found sun spots! Well, I guess it is to be expected. The protection of my skin, especially of my face, I find very important. So that is how I started out on this quest to find an sun hat that is actually stylish and hip! Here is what I found…
It’s almost May, the warm days are becoming more and more frequent, all the flowers are in bloom and your kids are just itching for school to be out. They’re ready to get outside and enjoy the summer as much as possible. You probably have a few vacations planned, some week long camps and house projects to work on, but what about the rest of the time when your kids having nothing to do but sit there looking at you saying, “I’m bored!” Now what?
It’s the middle of April, spring is showing up all around me and I am really excited for the warm days to start showing up. I’ve gone on a few good hikes, taken some nice bike rides and even had dinner with my family on the back porch a few nights ago. There are few things I love more in life than doing fun things outside with my family. I checked the weather report last weekend and was shocked to see that two 80 degree plus days were expected the following week. I couldn’t believe it. Eighty degrees in April hardly ever happens where I live. I decided to make the most of it and planned a beach trip with the family, a beach trip with my daughter and her preschool friend, and a hike to a waterfall. I’m a total opportunist when it comes to getting outdoors.
Once upon a time there was this really cool girl who always wanted 2 pairs of sandals that seemed to frivolous to purchase. One was a pair of Dansko sandals! She has had 2 surgeries on her feet and quality shoes are a must. The second pair is some Chaco’s. Now really, who doesn’t want a sandal with great arch support that you actually custom to fit YOUR foot. Very cool!
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall…we need kids clothes for them all!
It is hard enough to maintain a wardrobe for growing children, but we also have to buy those seasonal items as well. A few yearly essentials (depending on your location) may include a good winter coat, waterproof snow boots, beanies, gloves, rain jacket, rain boots, swimsuits, life jackets, etc. You also want these seasonal items to high enough quality to get great use! These items are outgrown just as fast as regular clothes, so how can we stay on top of these seasonal needs without braking the budget?
